Win Aung 2/03/2017 WRTG 900 Benefits of Soccer Soccer is great for several reasons: to expand feelings with friends, as well as to learn discipline, and to improving fitness. One of the ways that you could improve friendships is by making new friends from different cultures in a team or outside a team and learn their names. Soccer players would run a drill, drills are warm ups they would do, before practices. One way to learn names is by shaking each other's hands, when the drill is over. Soccer players would greet each other. Then they would hang out as a team to practice or to a game. Another way to make friends is by respecting others. For example, during a soccer tournament or playing against any team, if there is an injury, players in the field would kneel until the injured one got carried out of the field, then we will start playing. After the game, they would shake hand and hug. Soccer is a very positive emotional sport. When you score a goal, you will be so happy, and others will be happy for you as well. When you hear the cheering all around you. It makes you want to show off more, at the same time, makes you want to do better so you can show them what you could do the next time you're on the field. It also makes you believe in yourself that you could almost beat any team that will come against you. Discipline is huge in soccer culture. We learn how to work as a team, which means we would all show up earlier than the time the coach expected. Also, to work as a team means we will have one or two people who lead the team, we called them a "Captain." Another thing about disciplines is we need to dress properly. We would need to bring shoes, shin guards, shirts and pants for the right weather and for protection. For instance, we would practice together, while running and trying to get a ball from each other, accidents could happen. Therefore, shin guards are important in soccer culture. Soccer is very affective for health as well as improving fitness. It is great because you run a lot once you are on the field, or outside the field. For example, when you have the ball you would carry it toward the opponent's side, you would pass the ball to your teammates, until you score a goal. Additionally, once you pass the ball around and the opponents catch the ball, then you would chase the opponents that has it, while your teammates defend your opponent's. We would also do that outside the field, that means we would practice and do the same as an actual game. Therefore, a lot of movement is required that makes us lose weight and it leads us to a healthier body as the same time it would increase our speed and improve our skills.

It gradually disappears as they get older. It is possible for such a child to become a real painter one day, perhaps even a great painter. But he would have to start right from the beginning. So far as I am concerned, I did not have that genius. My first drawings could never have been shown at an exhibition of childrens drawings. I lacked the clumsiness of a child, his naivety. I made academic drawings at the age of seven, the minute precision of which frightened me. (Matayev) Pablo Picasso was born on October 25, 1881. His full name was Pablo Diego Josà © Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno Marà ­a de los Remedios Crispiniano de la Santà ­sima Trinidad Ruiz which according to Spanish tradition was the sequence of names of the honourable Saints and relatives of Picassos family. Picasso is the surname of his mother which he took as his fathers surname seemed to the painter too ordinary and primitive. From the age of seven, Picasso took lessons from his father Jose Ruiz, who was a painter himself specialized in naturalistic depictions of birds and sometimes even let his little son finish some of the paintings. While he was studying in Madrid, Picasso made his first trip to Paris where he visited the Louvre in October 1900. The works of impressionists changed his vision of art completely and that was the beginning of the so called Blue Period of Picasso (1901-1904) when the blue and blue-green color prevailed in the paintings. The main themes of the paintings of this period were death, old age, poverty, melancholy and sadness. The main characters were old, blind people, beggars, prostitutes and alcoholics (The Frugal Repast, 1904, The Blindmans Meal, 1903, The Tragedy, 1903). The more optimistic and positive Rose Period came to take the place of the gloomy mood and feeling of despair. Pink and red became the dominant colors. The theme also changed. The funny harlequins, strolling musicians and actors and deft acrobats became the characters of the paintings of Rose Period (The Acrobat and the young Harlequin, Actors family, The jester, 1905). The real popularity came to the artist at the age of 25 and he even complained that the public believed blindly into his talent and could not evaluate his works properly. The next period (1909 -1912) is called Cubism Period. There, Picasso met the young Russian dancer Olga Khokhlova with whom he fell in love. He proposed to her and after the performance in Barcelona she agreed to marry him. The Surrealism movement was growing in popularity at that time, and Picasso was also influenced by it. When the artist heard about the bombing of the undefended town Guernica in 1937 he decided to express his own thoughts about the tragedy. In 1944, Picasso made a decision to join the Communist Party. Picasso repeated publicly that the aim of his art was to fight like a revolutionary and be a weapon in a political struggle. After the WWII in 1955, Picasso moved to the large villa La Californie that was situated near Cannes where he wanted to live till the end of his life. From the windows he had a view of the big beautiful garden, full of his sculptures. But soon La Californie had become a place of tourist attraction. The early 1900’s can also be referred as the progressive movement because of the many reforms and improvements that occurred during the era. 2005 is much like the earlier progressive movements and can be classified as a progressive era. 3 out of the 4 goals of progressivism are being practiced during the 21st century. Social welfare, economic reform, and moral improvements are still being practiced to try to improve the quality and fairness of life in the U.S. Social welfare improvements are occurring right now to try and better our country as a whole. Bush’s new plan calls for standardized testing and education reforms to try and improve literacy in the U.S. much like during the 1900’s when woman’s groups were fighting for better education standards in schools. In fact standardized testing was first suggested in the early 1900’s to try and improve schools. Many in the 1900’s were advocates for child protection such as Florence Kelly who helped establish child labor laws and set up schools. In the progressive period we first saw the salvation army and attempts to try and improve living conditions for many Americans, groups like the YMCA help build safe communities to keep kids out of trouble. In 2005 Bush recently tried to improve poverty by modernizing social security to keep retirees from going broke. Bush also plans to update Medicare provide tax relief to those who need it. Just like in the early 1900 ’s aid groups are on the rise and have broadened there boundaries to help more people (doctors without borders, red cross, operation smile). During the era we witnessed a climb in the birth of many of these groups but in 2005 we are seeing a rapid increase in the number of non-profit organizations much like those simpler ones we saw in the past. The need to keep children safe has also sprung to life again as it did in the progressive era the need for children to â€Å"stay of the streets† as fueled many people to open/found teen centers and other hangouts where kids can be under adult supervision. Economic reform was and is very important to the survival of this country during the progressive period and directly indicates that 2005 is a progressive era. During the progressive era economic improvements was basically just revealing corrupt companies and trying to give the workers more rights and powers.
